My Highschool Football Coach...
Coach Crosby inspired me to be great. He was genuinely passionate about football, and he enjoyed helping his players achieve their best potential as a student-athlete. I was around some fantastic coaches at East Rutherford High school, but there was something about Coach Crosby that stood out the most to me. He truly believed in me, and my talents. Crosby was the type of coach that would always put you first, and if you needed extra help being the best student-athlete you envision yourself being, he would do his best to develop you to that point.
I remember growing up in Forest City NC, I was a big Clemson University Tiger fan. I remembered always talking to him about me playing there one day.

We had these conversations on the field and off. He never had any doubt that I couldn't achieve this goal. Even though I grew up in a small town, and top college teams did not recruit in our area very often, he always kept that dream alive for me. He would always tell me to stay focused and passionate about the game, and my dreams can come true.
I Just Have to Want it Bad Enough
I can remember lying in my twin-size bed at my grandma's house, thinking about wearing that orange jersey and jumping down the hill at memorial stadium in South Carolina.
My junior year was ending, and the summertime was approaching. Clemson University was having a weekend summer camp that I was invited to come to, but my family wasn't able to take me or afford the drive to campus. Coach took it upon himself to help me make my dream a reality.
Coach Crosby took me to Football camp before my senior season.

He drove me down, and I had an excellent experience. I remember my size numbers being 6'0 210, playing running back and linebacker, running cone drills and doing seven on seven exercises, showing my God-given talent.
I trained so hard for this moment to convince Clemson University that I was worth investing in. I had an impressive camp and earned respect from the coaching staff. One of the most exciting days of my life.
Coming from small-town friendly, Forest City, NC, that was not heavily attractive to Division one schools, I believe I at least made them curious about scouting in our area. I ended up going to Western Carolina University on a full scholarship after my Highschool career after suffering a leg injury, missing the rest of the regular season after the third game.
This hindered my college football recruiting. It's ironic that I met WCU coach at the Clemson Camp. I like to believe if it wasn't for Coach Crosby taking me to camp, my football career would have been in jeopardy!
My goal is to inspire and impact every teen and young adult the way Coach Crosby impacted my life.
He's one of the reasons I take pride in coaching and mentoring athletes to this day.
